Chao Phraya Bangkok River Cruise

Chao Phraya River Cruise

Bangkok (Krung Thep) Thailand’s capital with the Chao Phraya River in the center is one of the largest metropolis in southeast Asia. The stream feeds a network of canals (Klongs) where countless bigger and smaller vessel are rushing around and often crash into each other because by mentally many Thai people still live in the ox-cart age so mechanic engines are a challenge on the road and the water e.g. on the Chao Phraya River.

The main water sources of the Chao Phraya River are two the Ping and Nan River collecting the water of the upper half of Thailand which both fill 2 huge reservoirs in National Parks. In the west side it's the Mae Ping NP and further East the Lam Nam Nan National Park with the Sirikit Reservoir. They join in Nakhon Sawan Province to form the Chao Phraya Waterway. It's somehow similar to the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar around Yangon.

Every year there is flooding during monsoon time and a dry time before for several months. This is mainly "man-made" from people who simply don’t know what they do. Every year horror stories run through media and they invent all kind of project to solve the problem which is usually not done but the money for this "projects" often disappears as they say in Thailand "Same, same, but different" got the message? Thais have an extremely corrupt mind.

Next year the same starts again and the flood comes to Bangkok where all politicians promise it won’t happen again next year, guess what they announce the year after?

but this was brought to an end via a totally incompetent Military Government which came to power after the former ruler died and his son took over and a group of impostor was swept into power the managed to get Thailand onto the knees within a half years. Since the main source of income the tourists were blocked to enter. the country and no tourists means no income for most of the Thai population.
